My Remix focuses on the culture shock I experienced when studying in an American university. I chose to present my project as a short video because it allows me to combine visuals, voiceover, and real examples to show the differences between Chinese and American college life in a clear and engaging way. While creating this Remix, I selected images and short clips related to classroom participation, daily communication, and campus lifestyle. I used simple text and a clean layout to keep the message easy to follow. My goal is to help viewers understand how cultural differences shape international students’ experiences and emotions. Through this Remix, I hope to offer a new perspective on adapting to a new academic environment and encourage others to reflect on their own cross-cultural experiences.

In this video, I talk about the culture shock I experienced while studying at an American university. One major difference I noticed was classroom participation. Students in the U.S. are encouraged to speak up, ask questions, and share personal opinions, while classrooms in China usually feel more structured and quiet. I also describe differences in daily communication. Professors and students interact more casually here, and it is normal to use first names. Campus life is also different—students manage their daily schedules independently and often participate in group activities. These cultural differences were challenging at first, but they helped me grow and adapt to a new academic environment. Through this video, I share what I learned and how these experiences shaped my understanding of cross-cultural communication.
